Do I need a vpn router to connect to intranet thru vpn

hi

Id like to connect to my schools intranet through home cable. I don't have a router yet but will end up getting one to network 2 comps to cable. To connect to the school's vpn, do i need a vpn router or is all handled on my end through software on my 'puter

Or is this something specific that requires the school's attention?

it is totally up to the school on how they provide VPN access.

Normally it is done with a software based client on the PC.
