Hey there
I am currently on a wireless network. My computer is connected to a switch going into a WAP. This WAP is connecting me to another WAP in another building. This second WAP is hooked to a router with internet access, and this is how I am connected to the internet.
Now, as WEP is too easy to crack, I would like all my packets encrypted so that anyone sniffing can't see them or make any sense of the packets going through.
Would it be wise to replace the router with a VPN endpoint router?
If so, what kind of endpoint router would I have to buy in order for it to be easily compatible with Windows 2000/XP machines and Mac OS X? It it better to have PPTP or IPSec?
Basically, whenever I hop on the internet, I want every packet to be encrypted automatically so I don't have to worry about it.
Can someone provide any suggestions? Any insight provided is GREATLY appreciated! I've been scouring the internet for information but I'm awfully confused at this point. Am I on the right track? Thanks!
