Do I need a separate soundcard?

I'm building a new PC from scratch.

Usage:
-Mostly home video editing, trade stocks for a living (across 3 monitors), occasional DVD/movie watching, no games
-Like to listen to winamp (m1live.com) as well.
-Speaker system is from a while ago, but I'm happy with it and won't be upgrading it: Logitech Z560 5-piece (I'm not an audiophile)

I'm getting the ASUS P5Q-E that comes with "Al Audio 2 (SoundMAX High Def Audio)".

Question:
Do I need to pickup a separate Creative soundcard or is the Al Audio 2 pretty good sound and will meet my needs?

Onboard audio these days is great, you can get optical out/in and 7.1 surround out of them in very good quality. If you're just using a standard speaker set and not doing anything overly special the onboard sound will certainly be good enough for you needs.

Agreed. If you're not a particularly critical listener, and you don't already have an awesome sound card laying around, onboard sound is just fine.
