Do I need a receipt to RMA my monitor?

I have a sony monitor and its a year old with 2 years left on the warranty. something happend to it not on my fault but I guess by age? do i need a receipt to rma it at the sony dealership? if i dont have the receipt, is there any other way to prove that it's only a year old?

reciept not needed, they know when the warrantee is up, so it is not needed.

Nope, none needed. They are on top of it usually.
