Do I need a new power supply?

Core 2 Duo E4400
Gigabyte DS3L
4Gb of PC6400 DDRII
7900 GT @ GTX speeds
One IDE HD, Two Sata HDs and One IDe DVD burner

I have dual power supplies and while they are both weak by themselves I have had zero issues from them on my previous systems. However both are missing a 24 Pin connector and PCI-E as well.

Well, if your 7900gt doesn't need a PCI-E connector then you don't need one, do you? And my PC ran fine with just the 20 pins connector, and when adding the 4 pins with a new PSU it didn't make any difference whatsoever. I'm not sure how trustworthy those PSU's are though. http://68.178.255.190/modules....views&op=Story&reid=71 read that if you want to know what cheap-ass PSU's can do to your rig. And I bet your new rig WILL be pushing those PSU's harder then your previous rig.

Most if not all 7900GS PCIe cards should require a 6-pin PCIe input. If you're on a budget a quality 80+ Antec EarthWatts 380 for $30 AR is hard to beat. It has more than enough power for your rig, will run quieter, and it will save you money on your electric bill. 🙂

Yes it does but the card also came with a adapter for the 6 pin connector that will accept two molex connectors. Thanks John for the link

Marc, the PSUs ran the same E4400, 2GB of PC3200 DDR and 6800 Ultra AGP with no problems. And the 6800 Ultra is just as power hungry as a PCI-E 7900GT(X) if not more if I am not mistaken. I think I am going to be fine 🙂
