Hi all,

If I leave my computer unplugged (Asus A7NX Deluxe) for a while...or, if sometimes I just don't turn it on after a while, I'll have to go through and reset all the BIOS information, i.e. system date, FSB settings, etc.

Is this the problem with the CMOS battery? If so, how do I go about finding a replacement battery? I've never gone through that process before, although I can tell replacing the battery is a fairly simple process.

Thanks for your help!

Yes you do need a CMOS battery replacement and shut down your computer then unplug power suppy from outlet you will find silver rounded battery (about the size of nickle coin) on your motherboard. CMOS Battery replacement can be found at local Radio Shack near you.

Thanks for the help. I have removed and replaced batteries before to clear the CMOS, so that part seems simple enough. Will any battery do? Just go to radio shack, find the battery that looks like a cmos battery, and that'll do the trick?

Usually the CMOS battery has some sort of code marking what type of battery it is. Try to find a battery that has the same code.

Target used to have a fair selection of the round silver ones that are about the same size as some watch batteries. Just match the number on the battery.

I have the same problem on my Abit NF8-V, CMOS battery didn't clear it up. Hopefully it will for you!
