Do I need a new camera??

I'm getting ready to make a trip to Italy and France, as I stated on here. I currently have a Canon S200 that's about 2 years old. I've used this thing quite a bit....however, I only have a 64MB card for it. Which means, taking a long trip will cause the card to fill up...I won't have a laptop with me on this 10 day trip, so I probably will run out of space on my card.... To buy a new CF card, I'll run into $50 or more to get a decent sized card. Amazon.com is running a deal on their SD110 for $180....it's only 3.2MP, but accepts SD and I have a 512 SD wasting space. Is that justifyable or should I spend more money on more MPs. Thanks-

Considering the upgrade from the S200 to the SD110 isnt all that substantial, i would invest in a large CF card....

1gb CF cards can be had for $50-60

get a bigger cf card

Alright...I've already heard enough votes against getting a new camera. 😛

I may see if I can borrow a 256 meg card from a friend that has the same camera. 😉 That way I'll have some extra space until I can get back. Thanks.

Yeh, I'd buy a bigger CF card - 512 meg for around $30 or 1 gig for around $45-$55. If you don't want it afterwards you can sell it off for a little less than you bought it.

Do you have any friends or family you could borrow a bigger CF card off of for the week?

Gateway has an mp3 player that lets you upload pictures from cameras that conform to the USB mass storage device spec, if you're in the market for an mp3 player as well that's a consideration.

Already have a RIO...only a 566 meg player, but it accepts AA batteries and is extremely low power consumption, so it's great for travel. 😉

I think I'm just going to get a CF card and stick with my camera for another year. I just had these thoughts about getting an extremely good camera for my trip to take some real pictures while I was over there...just don't know if I should spend $300 or so on memories.

look at my FS thread below I can help with CF or A canon A510 batteries included that will take that SD card you have and is very portable and has the latest Canon imaging hardware! LMK what I can do.

EX

btw if you have an OM they have a CF card for $14 256mb but it is clearanced and HARD to find.
