Do I need a motherboard that supports 1.1 voltage?

Tom's said the AOPEN board was a nice board and went down to 1.1 (I also think the ABIT KT7A does too) but anyway, my question is why would I want a board that goes DOWN to 1.1, when it seems that most people have their settings around 1.75-1.85? Are the new CPU's going to need that low voltage?

Or is it a red herring and not something I need to take into consideration when buying my motherboard, which (knock on wood) I'll use 2-3 years or more.

Thanks 😱
