Do I need a laptop if I already have a desktop?

So here's the situation. I'm in 10th grade and already have a very good desktop PC. Recently I've been wondering if I should spend money on buying a new laptop or just save it for later. The laptop would be cheap (in particular this one). I would use it for things like MS Office, web surfing, movie viewing, and VERY light gaming (i.e. maybe Minecraft and browser based games). I've been looking for a sub $400 laptop that could do this and last around 2-3 years and this one looks pretty good. If I do need a laptop, would this be ok?

Hard for us to answer this question for you. Do YOU feel you need a laptop? do you find yourself in situations where you'd like to be on the go with a laptop for studying or being at friends' houses or whatever?

You'll probably need one in college, but thats a few years away, so no biggie.

Unless you're running into a situation every week or so where you are saying "Man, I really wish I had a computer on me" then no, you shouldn't get a laptop. Even then maybe you shouldn't. Save your money.

If you plan to travel, and want to be online while doing so, a laptop or tablet is very useful. The small form factor gowa to mobility. Only you can answer that.

Funny, I used to use a laptop quite a bit... now I hardly use it since I have my iPhone. I just don't need it any longer.

Only you can put a value on getting a laptop... is it really going to be used or just set in a corner and get dusty?

What makes that Dell attractive to you?
