I have an Antec SX635 case with a rear 80mm fan and the Mechatronics 80x80x25mm, 53CFM fan on the Alpha 8045 HS. My CPU is an Athlon XP 1800+. Do I need to buy a front intake fan or will I be ok with out one? I am not going to be overclocking at least for the next few months.

what are your current ambient, case and CPU temps? It never hurts to have a front intake, and I would never hesitate to recommend one, but as for *needing* one, its sketchy. As long as your temps are ok right now, don't bother. But if your case temps gets much above 30 and/or your CPU temps gets over 50 or so, then yeah, add an intake fan

If you cant afford it then dont buy it, im sure the comp will survive. But to be on the safe side I'd put one in, personaly it gives me peace of mind knowing that there is proper air flow. If your tight on cash head over to E-*ay, I just got a slew of 6 80mm 28.9 dba 31cfm fans for 15 bucks shiped. Cant get much better than that. ;)

I would suggest that you install a front intake, it makes your system breathe easily. As a result your system will be happy and will perform better (if he like the new intake) :)

i would recommend an intake fan. it'll cost you around $8, which shouldn't be much of a problem. an intake fan will ensure cool air is always flowing through your case and that dead air hot spots will be minimized.

Thanks everyone, I have decided to get 2 Antec 80mm fans for Minitower from Provantage.com. They are 3.97 each but shipping was 8.30.
