Do I need a floppy?

Hello, I plan on installing Windows on a SATA drive for my new PC. Will I need a floppy drive? Or does Windows automatically detect it, or what? Thanks.

This belongs in Operating Systems. There are several threads there already. You can either slipstream SATA drivers onto your WinXP CD, or you can put them on a floppy. This of course does not apply if your motherboard's base chipset is SATA-enabled, in which case SATA is transparent - WinXP just sees your SATA drive as another HDD.

I do not know whether you need them for those particular mobos but I would get a floppy anyway. The most you will spend is $10 and it may come in handy in the future.
