In my living room I ran an Ethernet cable from my router to my Xbox One. I also have a PS3, Steam Link and mini HTPC near the Xbox One. 4 devices total. I only want to run the one cable across the living room for the 3 or 4 devices. Do I need a splitter or a switch or something else? Do they even make 1 to 4 splitters? Will this device switch automatically or manually?

Yes, go Gigabit that 8port is only $10. I bet the cables you'll end up buying will cost more. I nearly ended up buying that one, but IGMP snooping support is unknown for it. It does support QOS, so it's not a big deal.

Even with a 10/100mpbs switches some such as those that come with WiFi routers usually top off at 90mpbs with an ideal situation of only two things used for testing plugged in creating the traffic.

Thanks. I went ahead and ordered one. I'm hoping it doesn't have a noisy power supply mentioned in some of the reviews.
