First things first. I don't have a clue what i'm talking about.
That being said here's the information I am in need of.
My company has a PBX. That is a Private Branch eXchange phone system. We are using Nortel based phones. We are running standard desktop computers. (Microsoft Windows XP Professional)
I have an employee who uses ACT! (customer information software package)
ACT! has a software autodialer built into the program.
What my employee wants to be able to do is as follows: Click the customer information, Click dial and have the software / computer start to dial the number in the information. All she does is pick up the phone / turn on headset.
Now my questions / concerns are - What am I missing? I assume my computer needs a modem? But what kind? Voice modem? And Do I need some sort of device that connects my computer to my phone (hardware device) then which plugs into our PBX system?
I hope this makes sense and I hope someone can help me.
