i'm about to go home for the summer from college and well, i'm from out of state and have to take my stuff back on a plane. what i'd really like to do is actually just take back my motherboard, processor, HSF, RAM, CD-RW drive, both hard drives, power supply, video card, ethernet card, modem, sound card, 2 harddrives, and all the cables and what have you. basically, taking the whole inside of my computer. it will save me TONS of space in my HUGE bag. but will it be okay to run my system w/o a case? i don't even have the greatest case right now. i leave it open to increase the airflow. any suggestions? or will i be okay just taking home the soul of my computer?

it's definitely not the best way to do it and i wouldn't recommend it, but as long as you're careful, it's possible. setting it up will require more space and will leave your computer exposed. and of course you'd have to be careful about how you pack your components into your bag, as i don't think it'll be treated with care. but here's an idea: but on a handle and/or u-bolts for a shoulder strap on your case and bring your computer on the plane as a carry on.
