I am using a sblive with spdif connected to a fps2000(4.1 speakers)

I am using powerdvd 4 and it is suppoose to be a software decoder that allows me to watch dts movies
however when I tried to played the dts version of a movie, it gives no sound. Is this normal?

ummm...unless there's something I don't know, powerdvd does not decode dts...it simply outputs the bitstream via a optical connection and you need a dts decoder to hear anything. powerdvd downmixes 5.1 to 4.1 for your speakers but i don't think it does this for dts. don't fret - it would be entirely impossible to notice a difference between dolby and dts on the fps2000.

the new powerdvd 4 i suppose to be able to decode dts

also, your said I wont be able to hear a difference? (is my speakers too crappy?)

Now i am forced to watch using dolby digital 2.0
( mabye I should get a good receiver for my tv)
