I original purchased 1 gig of Pny optimal ddr2 553 ram for my conroe build. Then i again purchase 2 gig of ddr2 553 ram for my system after i said a decent deal from ft/fs forum. Now i am having some second through as to is it really worth to have 3 gig of ddr2 ram even for Vista? Or should I sell the 1 gig pair of the pny ram that I got and just rebuy them if vista will take mroe than 2 gig of ddr2 ram to function well?

2GB is good enough for pretty much anything you would need, but personally I would keep the extra gig, unless you really need the cash.

I dont really see any reason to sell the ram, especially if your considering upgrading to vista. People are already saying 1 Gig isnt enough for vista, not to mention you cant really hurt yourself with too much ram. As said before, unless you really need to the money from selling the other gig, there no reason to get rid of it.

Sell the gig now while prices are high, later you can always buy back your gig for a lower price, or maybe get another two gigs for the same price as you sell your one gig for today.

Vista will run fine on 1GB. Currently I have 2GB in my computer but I have run RC2 with 1GB and it runs perfectly well, even when multitasking.

why is that? it seems with a 32-bit OS you only get 3.25G usable memory anyway and 64bit OS are still a pain.
