Do I just burn the Vista RC1 ISO file to a DVD?

You can't just burn it to a data dvd otherwise you will just have the iso file on the dvd. You have to actually go to File>Open and select the iso file, then select burn.

Well, that didn't work. Can't boot from the data DVD.

Can anyone help me out please? How do i put this ISO file on a DVD so I can boot from it and install Vista? I've got Nero if that helps.

Thanks,

Ok, I got it on the DVD and was able to boot off the disc. After the rolling bars I got a screen that looked like some kind of wavy curtains or something. It just froze at that point and wouldn't let me do anything else.

Sounds like the DVD corrupted on the burn. Try burning the iso at a slower speed. You did verify the ISO image MD5 Sum right?

How do I verify the ISO image MD5 Sum? I'm not sure what you're talking about. Sorry but I'm really not into burning DVDs so this stuff is new to me.

Thanks,

Ok, I used FastSum to verify the ISO image. It matches the MD5 Hash on Microsofts site.

So I guess I messed up burning the ISO to to DVD.

Can anyone with Nero explain How I burn this ISO to DVD?

Thanks,

Run Nero StartSmart
Select DVD.
Under "Copy and Backup", click on "Burn Image to Disk".
Locate the image in the window that opens up and follow the instructions for selecting your drive.

You also may find a slower burn speed improves the quality of the DVD also. It is well known that faster burns are prone to data corruption... sometimes.
