Hey all,

I bought a copy of windows XP corporate, but when I installed it, it still said it was Windows XP professional. Is there any way in which to verify that I indeed got the corporate version and didn't get ripped off with the normal professional version?

FYI, when installing, I didn't have to do anything to activate it, is that normal, or do you usually get some sort of grace period before asked to activate(I'ts only been a few hours now)

Did you happen to buy this copy of XP in an Asian Country?

The corporate version of Windows XP is essentially Windows XP Professional minus WPA, for use in large businesses so the IT management doesn't have to activate every single machine. As you can imagine, a volume license is very costly, but is a deal for large businesses, thus it is not feasible for individuals.

I agree with rosco6912 on this one. You MUST tell us where you got this from. That version is essentially the perfect version of WinXP!

Tell, tell... :)

Dude, don't even lie! You don't just BUY a copy of XP Pro (corporate) right off the shelf! If you DID BUY it, you paid $1000+ for it. And I REALLY doubt you paid that kind of money for it. Then again, you might have bought it but it sure isn't legit.

Just FYI, Microsoft never had and never will sell corporate versions of their software to end-users. Legally, you can't run it either, since you don't have the license for it. Will anyone check if you won't spread this around? I think you know the answer to this one.

It's all over the net, I downloaded XP Corporate edition over a month ago, way before its official release. I also got XP plus.
I've seen people selling the same copy on CDRs. So , like he said, he bought it;)
