I'm just wondering do i have to uninstall my Nvidia drivers when i upgrade my gpu ? Upgrading from a GT 440 2GB to a GTX 560. Mostly use AMD cards so not much experience with Nvidia and how the drivers work.

It would be a good idea to uninstall, yes.

I'm not sure about Nvidia drivers, but when I had to replace my 6950 with a 7870, I definitely had to re-install drivers so it would recognize the new model of card.

See yes ik that about AMD but Nvidia doesn't have the same uninstall way like AMD

I don't think so. I had to take my 580s out a couple of months ago and put a GT640 in and all I had to do was reboot and it was fine.

Good to know. Thanks for correcting me, guys. Looks like you won't have to uninstall the drivers after all then.

(...I probably still would, but I'm weird like that)

I moved from 2x HD6870's in CrossfireX to a single HD7950. No need to reinstall drivers (though I ran the 12.11 Beta 11's).

I'd not bother unless it gives you issues. If it gives you issues then it's 5 minutes work tops.

The current driver on nVidia's website says it will support the 400 and 500 series cards, so you should be fine. You should go ahead and make sure you have the latest driver after the upgrade though. Performance increases in several games.
