do i have to reinstall ME after swapping mobo/cpu?

I just bought the ECS 7s5ka w/ 1.4 athlon. My computer keeps turning off randomly and I was wondering if it had to do with not reformatting/reinstalling winME. Please help.

It may or may not be the problrem but it is a good idea to reformat after doing a mb swap.As a rule i always reinstall after swapping mb myself. The is a lot of info in the thread for this mb that will be a big help if you will take the time to read it.

I swap mobos every 2-3 months without always reinstalling OS, but its critical to load INF files and drivers specific to the chipset on the new mobo. Also, may need to refresh the Ultra ATA driver to enable DMA level performance for storage subsystem (if you're using IDE drives). Latest Intel driver is version 6.20 - but probably not compatible with your chipset since you've got an Athlon. Enjoy!
