Do I have to download SP1 in order to use USB 2 on Nforce 2 MB's??????

Help I don't want to download SP1 for Windows XP, but I just got the Epox Nforce 2 MB, and it says that I have to download SP1 in order to activate my USB 2 function. Do I really have to do this, is their no other way to get around this????:disgust:
 
The drivers from Nvidia's site say the same thing...

Windows XP users must install Service Pack 1 prior to attempting to install this package. Failure to do so will result in the inability to support USB 2.0 and NVIDIA IDE drivers.

Why dont you want to download sp1?
I feel bad for you but its funny that some people cant download sp1 with warezed xp so they cant utilize this feature.
I didnt notice anything bad from downloading it, then again im on an intel platform. Dont know if that makes a difference.
 
Um well I don't want to get into details but I can't. Don't want to say why since many people have the potential to read this, but I can't. But is it that you can't use usb at all or is it that you don't recieve nvidia support for it???
 
Without SP1 the Nvidia USB2 and IDE drivers CANNOT function.

If you want USB2 you'll have to install SP1!
 
Update required. Microsoft did not think 2.0 support was necessary with xp because of the firewire (1394) support. 🙁
 
well some people have legal Win XP OS's but use the Corp. key so they don't have to call Microsoft eveytime they change CPU;s or do something to the system.

BUT even then there are hacked SP1's out there for people using the Corp. key. Not that hard to find, so just go look around
 
i was just about to ask where to find hacked sp1s, i have a legit copy on my computer, but somthing else on two others

think kazaa might have it, and if so what size would it be?
 
I would like to get SP1..but it says invalid key... yes I am using a hot copy of XP... where can i get it at?
