Do i have to buy hardware to get a temp from vidcard?

I'm a bit lost on this one. I'm having a problem with lockups and someone suggested my vid card may be overheating.
Although i'm overclocking my cpu, I'm running my vidcard at stock.

Is there a way to monitor my videocard's temp? i'm currently using MBM5 and under available sensors are 3 diodes and my 2 drives. Now, diode 1-2 are my cpu/case, but the 3rd diode i'm not sure of...

i've actually got 2 options for the 3rd sensor:

"TE8712F-3" ----> Temp is 127C

and

"TE8712F-3 Diode" ----> Temp is 86C
(yes, both are in C)

I don't know what these temps are exactly, as nothing shows up in Asus probe or my Bios hardware monitor that comes even close to those temps.

Only certain video cards have gpu temperature monitoring. For Ati I believe it is only the 9600XT and 9800XT.
