Do I have the worst motherboard?

Yes, I would say the Asus K7M is one of the worst mother boards I have ever used. I love my Abit KA7. I can also overclock from 650 to about 750 now.
 
The k7m is a good MB but not the best... When it was released it was the only stable platform for athalon but since than there has abviously been some improvements...
My Recomendation... Keep this for now & when you can go with a tbird/a7v combo... Much improvements & very easy to overclock...
