Hello,

I have 2 eVGA 7800GT's in my PC. i don't really get the bios for video cards. In the driver details, the "Video BIOS version:" says 5.70.02.13.7B. I go to eVGA's website and they just have an exe that says 516_13.6B.exe. Does that mean i have a BIOS in my card that is not even on eVGA's website? (ei ....13.6B vs ....13.7B)?

Thanks!

I have 5.70.02.13.8B with my N515-AX 7800GT. Guess they haven't uploaded it yet.

Are you worried about the artifacting problem with 7800GTs? Don't flash the BIOS if your card works fine. I'd say 90% of the time there is no speed advantage at all, unless the BIOS fixed some specific bad slowdown problem. The other 10% of the time, you may garner an extra 0.1% in FPS. Mine has been fine from day one. Just making sure you don't needlessly damage your card.

actually... i haven't gotten it completely stable yet. I reinstalled windows xp about 5 times already, 3 out of the 5, my PC died when i tried to install Nvidias latest drivers (after clicking on install, i click next a bunch and when it detects the video card and the monitor goes out, instead of it coming back, it would go BSOD and after that each time boot the PC, with in 15 seconds it would BSOD over and over again). last 2 times i installed my PC and it has detected SLI after i changed my installation order of everything in my PC and that worked... the 4th time i got a BSOD i was trying to get Windows XP Pro to see all 4GB of my RAM and I think i f*cked it up (yes i have read everything here, amd's site and microsofts website about 4GB being sceen in System Properties and nothing has worked so far).... so now i am just trying 2GB of memory to see if its stable but i wanted to know about the BIOS incase i'm not current and that might have been the cause for the first 3 tries... later i am going to try Windows 2003 and see if i get better results w/ my 4GB of memory on that one........

I have the same cards and the same BIOS version. They are running at the 517's 470mhz speed by default for some reason, but seem to have no issues with that slight speed bump so I'm not going to bother flashing them.
