I've got a question and am looking for those with similar builds or experience in the matter.
I'd like to add an extra HDTV tuner (ATI TV Wonder 650) to my curent HTPC box (specs below), but I'm not sure it has enough CPU power to handle Dual Hi-Def and Dual Std-def recording while playing a DVD. any opinions are appreciated.
I'd rather not build an entirely new dual-cor rig just to add 1 HD tuner. The system runs perfectly as it stands now.
Current HTPC rig:
3.2GHz nothwood OC @ 3.4 (CPU will OC to 3.8GHz, but don't due to heat)
ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe
4x512MB of DDR400 Corsair XLPT memory currently running 2-3-3-6 (I think)
ATI X800XL AGP
ATI TV Wonder Elite for Std-Def
PowerColor Theater 550 for Std-Def
ATI HDTV Wonder for Hi-Def
80GB Maxtor SATA HD for OS & MP3\home video storage
400GB Western Digital SATA HD for Ripped DVDs (playback) & TV recording storage.
Antec Sonata II with included 450watt PS
On-board audio supplied to Sony receiver via SPIDF coaxal out
Video supplied to Sony 60A2000 TV via DVI - HDMI cable
MCE 2005 w/ roll-up 2 & latest updates
nVidia PureVideo Decoder (Gold)
