ok, i've got zonealarm and all of a sudden, it goes "trickler_3202 would like to access the internet"

i looked in my TEMP folder and there it was. what is this thing?

is it ok to delete EVERYTHING in my temp folder?

how can avoid this damn thing from coming back? ]]

I couldn't find any info on that particular file. It probably is either a virus or a spyware type of thing.
Yes, you can and SHOULD (regularly) delete everything in your Windows/Temp folder. Useless, space consuming junk piles up there. Deleting everything there is proper Windows maintenance. It was a weekly routine for me along with scandisc and defrag when I had Win98SE on my main machine.

well hot daizam! i didnt know that.

all i did was clear out my cookies and junk like that. my friend also recommended to me: AD -AWARE. tried it and its pretty cool. gets rid of all the spyware stuff.

i will definietely do that from now on.'

are there anyother folders/files that i should maintain and cleanout regularly?

trickler is supposedly a spyware program that will slowly, over time, download more spyware. It kind of trickles it in.

Temp is mostly it, but also Temporary Internet Files. I keep the cookies, a lot of them are useful. They eventually get cleaned out though as I reinstall windows twice a year or so.

You can also try the AdAware app, it scans your hdd's as well as the registry to see if there's any spyware installed, then will remove them for you.
