I have had really bad head aches for the past month and this morning I woke up with one and my nose was gushing blood.
One of my coworkers says I might have a brain tumor. Does anybody know anything about this?

EDIT: Yes I know I should go see a doctor!

Your doctor would know. Also, there's tons of info out on the web (this does not replace a doctor's visit, however) so try running a search.

Get to a doc!

how bad is the bad headache?

if you have been having headaches for so long, you should go to your doc whether you have a brain tumor or not

<< That's what is crazy. I'm not doing anything! >>

*If* I suspected that had a brain tumor, I would not sit around doing nothing. The sooner things like that are detected, the better your chances are.

Ask a question like that in these parts and you're liable to get people telling you that your CPU fan is overheating, and you should try upgrading to an Athlon MP. ;)

Could be a sinus problem, is your air humidified? Anyway see a doctor, listening to a coworker diagnosing a brain tumor is crazy.

Last time I checked that kind of stuff isn't normal.

Don't be dumb. See a doctor.

Why do people seek medical advice in computer forums on the internet?

Well she used to do a lot of nursing...I was simply asking for opinions. I'm not going to schedule an operation based on that.

You MIGHT have a brain tumor. You also might have pancreatic cancer and gangrene in your toe. Short answer is: If worried go to a doctor. Chances are you're ok BTW.

cant believe no one has said this yet:

<arnold voice>
Its not a tumor!

but seriously, i highly doubt its a brain tumor, they are incredibly rare.

unless you grew up testing microwaves for a living and talking on a cell phone 24/7

Sounds more like high blood pressure..........but the advice remains the same. Go see a physician, plain and simple.

The brain tumor is such an esoteric condition, it'd be more likely you get hit by lightening in your bathroom.

Someone else @ work said High blood pressure.
I've got the results of an MRI and CAT scan I can post if anybody wants to see them.

Recently an 18 year old coworker of mine had to have laser surgery because of headaches. There was a bundle of nerves at the base of his brain that grew tangled, it was causing terrible migranes. Sadly enough, his best friend was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma a week later, and he's doing quite poorly... If you have ever seen what cancer does to someone, you would GET YOUR ASS TO THE DOCTOR!

<sarcasm>Are your brain drivers up to date ? Are you running the lastest Anti-Brain Virus scanner ? Try removing your brain and install the new AMD XP Brains </sarcasm>

Really though are you the type of person that asks McDonald workers for finnacial advise ? Go see a damn doctor before you die !!!!!

D@mn't! I'm stuck at work and can't see a doctor right now. So I thought I would check and see if any ATer's might know anything. I've got an appointment scheduled for next week. I was checking for my own peace of mind. Brain Tumor's are scary.
Oh, the MRI & CAT scan stuff was sarcasm (I hoped someone would catch that)

It depends on whether you have other symptoms or not, ravanux.

Any changes in sensation or motor coordination anywhere in the body? Weight loss? Change in personality (although how are you going to tell that one? :) )? Any pain of unknown reason besides the headaches? Any changes in tactile sensation? Coordination? Vision? Taste? Smell?

About the headaches, how long do they last? Where are they located? Are there vision changes with the headaches? Nausea or vomiting? Have you had headaches before this?

Lots of questions to think about. The nosebleed was probably coincidence, but you should think about all these things above before you see a doctor, because they're going to ask them.

I'm not a doctor and know practically nothing about medicine, but in my opinion, yes you have a brain tumor.

But maybe you want to get a second opinion.

LOL. But in all seriousness, don't get yourself to worked up over this. Just sit back and relax...better said than done, huh?

Like someone else said, it's quite possibly just a sinus problem. I get bad headaches, and my GF gets random nosebleeds sometimes, if we put our heads together, we might have a brain tumor, but that's not likely. ;)

I'll be glad to perform the surgery. I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. ;)
