do i go to school

i am currently working at a company that for the first time in my life, i could truly see myself retiring at. however, i would like to figure out the best way to ensure my pay steadily climbs along with my experience. i currently work as a sys admin, with no certs just experience. now again, i'm probably going to retire at this company. would it be better for me to return to school and get my degree? or would it be better for me to just obtain industry certs? i like what i do, but not sure which would be more beneficial to my carer at this point.
