Do I buy a new DVD player or replace the drive on my Apex 600A?

My trusty Apex 600A won't play the VCDs or SVCDs I put into it anymore, so I don't know whether I should buy the Norcent one here for $40 bux or
have open up my 600a and buy a DVD-ROM drive off ebay and I can replace it. The drive will probably cost about $20. Or, $20 more and I get another DVD player for the house.

If you've got the time to fool around with the Apex and make it work, by all means go for it.

Personally, i'd probably just buy another cheapie.

Maybe make it a weekend project or something?
