do I apply for jobs that I dont qualify for(with a cover letter

So as a math major, it is a pain to find a job. There are only a handful of jobs that I find that require a math degree, but the problem is that they all require some experience in this or that.

Is it worth it to apply, and on my cover letter write something like "I know I dont have the experience, but I will train, and I am a hard worker" blah blah blah??

suggestions?

A cover letter is your time to shine. Don't focus on being willing to learn, but that you are well suited for this job because of xxxx and xxxx in spite of your math degree.

Don't show weakness in a cover letter.

Make it a standard cover letter and let your prospective employer decide if they want to talk to you about employment.

If you mostly qualify, but are missing one or two things, go ahead. If you're not even close to even being generally in the same area as the qualifications, I wouldn't bother.
