Do Hot Topic t-shirts shrink?

I just bought a t-shirt from Hot Topic in XL. I'm borderline XL/XXL but I've noticed that Hot Topic shirts are usually a little smaller than the size that they appear in. The tag on the shirt says "Pre-shrunk". I was wondering if...

a) The shirt is actually pre-shrunk -- can it be shrunken anymore?
b) If it can be shrunken some more, how do I wash it without having it shrink?
c) Can I stretch this shirt out in the case that it does shrink?
d) Losing weight is not a feasible option since I'm already exercising this option (no pun intended ;))

Their extra larges run kinda small.....at least the ones I have bought recently. I don't know if that's because that's how I bought them or if it's because they shrunk after I washed them, because I usually wash and dry my new shirts before I wear them... what did you get?

they're not any more pre-shrunk than any other pre-shrunk shirt (which is what almost every shirt is). they fit tight because they are supposed to fit tight. the tigher the shirt, the better it fits. ;)

I bought a New Found Glory shirt in XL (that's all they make it in) and my stomach shows a little so that's why I prefer XXL. But if it shrinks, then damn...that's not a good thing.

So you say wash it with cold water and let it hang to dry? That's the best way to avoid shrinking? Interesting...

Also, I shouldn't be bleaching my shirts eh? That's what it says on the tag.

Anything made of cotton will shrink if you wash/dry it warm. Preshrunk won't shrink much though. :)

Buy an XXL next time fatty, and be done with it.
