If the Pres. was assasinated tomorrow, do you think people would have the same reaction people had in 1963 when Kennedy was shot? Would you be heart broken? Would you cry?

The President is the President. He is the leader of this nation, like him or not. You have to respect the office. This goes for Clinton, W, whoever.

I'm sure I would feel exactly like I did on 9/11, which was very sad and on the brink of crying, but not actually breaking down

No, you're wrong. The only SANE way to effectively change the administration is by election. Do you know what kind of chaos this country would go into if 90% of the administration died? Stock market collapses. Civil liberties would be revoked. The very existence of our government itself would be uncertain.

No, you're wrong. The only SANE way to effectively change the administration is by election. Do you know what kind of chaos this country would go into if 90% of the administration died? Stock market collapses. Civil liberties would be revoked. The very existence of our government itself would be uncertain.

Different Presidents and different times. Would I cry? No, but as much as I dislike the man, I would not like to see him shot. I just wouldn't cry. Seen too many things I guess.

I would be very upset. Because this man has done an excellent job under the toughest conditions imaginable. Think about what his presidency has had to endure. He inherited a failing economy which he is (unfairly) blamed for, 9-11 and the war on terrorism, all the while being criticised by short sighted liberal losers.

He has performed admirably and he will be getting my vote next year even though I did not vote for him the first time.

If he were assassinated I would be very sad and angry.

and what, pray tell, could he do? The president is not omnipotent and all-powerful here people. He does what events and groups and people sway him to do. He can't just say ... "ok economy, you listen here...you fix up now". I mean seriously, what the hell do you want him to do? Think about it. Let's say he wants to cut taxes ... oh wait. ok, how about stimulate the economy with a war...oh wait. Honestly, he'll be lucky if he gets away with as few people hating him as possible. If he promotes one industry, everyone else screams and hollers. If he cuts support to special interests, people scream and holler. If he supports special interests, people groan and holler about the economy. Heck, he prolly couldn't work at mcdonald's to help pay the deficit without some environmentalist spitting in his face and calling him a cow killin liberal. Then if he quits, he's a wealthy upper class conservative too rich to give a damn.
