Actually, yes.

Some zipper head a couple units down from mine has to rev the snot out of his for 5 to 10 minutes, at all hours of the day and night. The thing runs so bad it takes that long to get it to idle. Somebody got tired of listening to it and the other night they poured gas on it and lit it.

Blissfully quiet around here ever since.

actually your not allowed to noise pollute as you please. i'm sure there are laws in most areas. airports are built away from homes and are sometimes restricted at night if the noise affects nearby homes.

Did anyone even bother to talk to the guy? Did anyone contact the city to send a bylaw officer/police officer to investigate? If it was my bike, I would find out who torched it and sue your ass to the wall.

It's an hour thing.

You can make as much noise as you want before something like 8, 9 or 10PM.

I started disliking Harleys when I stayed at Balboa Island.
It seems like every other house owned a Harley. All of them would pass by my window every Sunday morning.
Earplugs didn't help.
I went to the farthest side of the house (which was the bathroom) and slept there--that didn't help either.
There was only one thing I could do: stop sleeping in.

Wow..the first time I've been insulted by Red Dawn! I feel special...well, not really.

American made power? I love the sound of a muscle car -- I hate the sound of a Harley. The ones I've heard SOUND LIKE CRAP. Funny how a Hayabusa isn't exactly slow, but manages to have a much more tolerable sound.

Again, just in case you didn't catch it : non-Harley American 'power', if you will (ie 'real' engines in 'real' cars) == good. Average Harley == too obnoxious.

But you find the noise of many Harleys acceptable?

What the hell is the difference between a quasi-"rider" who spends $40k to get the full "Harley experience" and decides to make it as loud as possible so everyone can partake in his experience as well versus the ricers who put on the fart cans? Both serve no purpose other than to annoy or draw attention.
