Do GIANT MOSQUITOS bite?

Maybe it's a Mosquito Hawk. Looks just like one, only huge and they eat them.... so I've been told, I've never fed one or watched him eat....

Seen mosquitos as large as 2-3" before. They grow em big in Fayetteville, NC as well.
 
Hmmmm... maybe it is a cranefly. I was suspicious of the whole male mosquito thing... I seem to recall that those are green and the same size as females. I'm confused now though.
 
Sounds to me like the Mosquito Hawk, yes they bite, but they bite MOSQUITOS !

The bugs are so big in Florida....
How big ARE they ?
Well I called about a Palmetto Bug, big cockroach....
and they offered me $ 300 trade in allowance for a Buick Park Avenue.
