Do genuine intel boards support Xeon w/ IGP

On the two models intel is selling:

Neither appears to have support for the Xeon's with the integrated graphics. However they both support the ones without. Is this lazyness that they do not update the list or intentional? Maybe they truly do not support them.

My post was kinda vague.

If you look at intels cpu support list, it shows Xeon 1240V3 as supported but makes no mention of the Xeon 1245V3 which have the integrated graphics. I personally don;t understand why. Every other manufacture listes both the IGP version and the non IGP version.

Would I be taking a huge risk in assuming it would work?

I cannot fathom why it would not, but unless you receive some kind of confirmation from Intel, it doesn't seem worth the risk to just buy it anyway.

The CPU compatibility lists specifically say that the supported Xeon processors need a stand-alone graphics card. The fact that they included that info makes me suspect that something about the integrated GPU on the Xeons isn't compatible. But as crashtech said, it would be best to contact Intel to find out for sure.

Their reply is generic. With a link to the supported CPU list.

I know in the past for example a board that supports 2GB ram can support 4GB as there was no such thing around at time of publication. Same with xeon v3 with IGP. The CPU's came after the board was produced.

So the heart of my build is going th intels very last motherboard, should I delay my build to see if they add support? If I try, will somthing burn up, or simply not work?

How about go elsewhere with your business? There are many good boards out there that will suit your needs, like the Gigabyte GA-H87-D3H or Asus H87-PLUS.
