Do General Education electives matter much?

For those that don't know, General Education courses are those that are required for the school, but not required for your major. Some examples, are Foreign Language courses, History/Political Science, Writing, etc. I'm currently taking Religion and a Great Texts course. They require too much reading, if you ask me. Reading the Bible is not exactly fun nor is something I am knowledgeable in... I'm not doing too well in those class, hopefully I'll end up with B's if I do well on the final exams. Unfortunately, they are required. However, for my core classes, like Calc2 and Data Structs, I'm basically aceing them. So, when a company looks at my GPA, will those classes turn them off?

In general, NONE of the individual classes matter in getting a job.

Having the degree does.

None of my employers ever asked for a transcript.

If by " General Education electives" you mean "Ass Kissing 101", it can't hurt.

But they still look at the GPA, don't they?
