Do garment shavers really work?

I'm talking about those things which basically shave your coats/sweaters/jackets etc. and get rid of all the little fuzzies which accumulate after you've been wearing it for a long time. Do they really make your coat look new? And how many times can you shave a coat before it starts accumulating bald spots?

Heh, yup, they work. At least the one I use does.

I don't know if I'd say it makes them actually look new, just removes all the scraggley's. Which I suppose makes it look new, or at least better.

Works fine. Not a gimmick.

FYI: I was desparate for a shave one morning and figured I'd give it a try... Let's just say that it was a bad idea.
