Because they are bored?
Subjects which are sensitive in nature (well, there are folks from both ends which think are they are correct) draw crouds of folks debating subject matters and don't really get resolved in the end, are they created by folks who just want to see some thread activity?
Threads such as religion, politics, circumcision, abortion, etc ,etc.
We all have different opinions on the matter. And it's interesting to see other people's point of view at times (just not very couple of days)
Why start them unless you are actually interested in a certain elements of the discussion?
You can recongize a flamebait from a mile away. Still draws attention. Write something produce, someone might actually learn something
