I just started work here not long ago and already these two women in cubicles nearby are driving me insane with their constant chatter. They talk about the most mundane things for hours on end. I wonder how they get any work done. Unfortunately I can't always tune them out, but my God what a saviour the iPod has been whenever I get a chance to listen.

Does it make hard for you to chat about mundane things here in ATOT?

Yes. They can't do the same amount of work we do. But they want the same pay.

Current example: they've spent 40 minutes talking about soup. Campbell's soup to be exact. Not which flavors they like. Not what recipes they've used. No, they're talking about the consistency of the soup. And whether they add milk or water to it!!! OMGWTFSHUTUP!

I don't work with many now, but back in school that shiat would always bother me. Nonstop whispering about shopping and other stuff while I'm in the back of class trying to hear the professor at the front.

Also, one time in one of my required music classes, this girl's cell kept vibrating. Instead of TURNING IT OFF, she answers and starts arguing with the person because whoever it is won't stop calling her. "Stop calling, I'm in class!" TURN IT OFF you dumb broad. ARGH that still infuriates me. I suppose it shouldn't, but how anyone can be that dense and still make it into college is pretty unsettling.

LOL, point well taken! Sure I may be the biggest nef around, but I don't bore my friends and coworkers with my sh*t 24/7 man! I keep my neffing to one "Off topic" forum! Maybe I need to tell these girls to keep their sh*t on a blog together so I don't have to hear it?

The guys at my office do this. They talk about their golf game, the latest car race, they complain about the company.... thank god they gave me a laptop so I can go into a conference room so that I can get work done.

Back when I first joined the company and was stuck in the land of cubes, absolutely, they drove me nuts. We used to joke about how it was basically a big sorority cube farm. Virtually all the girls I worked with spent at least half their day chitchatting about what clubs they went to last night, what all they were wearing, who they hooked up with, etc. Entertaining stuff for the first hour or so, but hearing it hour after hour, day after day (done in full valley girl 'like oh my god' dialect) it rapidly begins to wear on you and you soon realize why they can't find a guy. No amount of hotness is worth having to deal with that level of nagging irritation and ignorance.

Thankfully, I've got an office now and the company finally realized they weren't working and broke most of that group up.
