Do fat/ugly actors get offended when they are offered the role of a fat/ugly person?

Believe me... not after Charlize Theron won an Academy Award for a role of an ugly person.

Do you think black actors get offended when asked to play the role of a black man?

Why would you think that people would be so oblivious to how their bodies look.

Kathy Bates wasn't offended, in fact she took her clothes off, which many could say offended others. :D

I would guess if they are at their normal everyday weight, no, but if they are ballooning then yes. Same with ugly, except it's more of a known factor..?

"There are no small roles, only small actors"

At least, that's what their agents keep telling them from the moment they set foot in California.

$$$ is $$$ no matter how you look at it. They need $$$ to feed their fat asses so working as a fatass helps then put the bacon on the table.

Well i think they're auditioning for the role of the fat person, so they're probably just offending themselves. Most big name actresses that get asked to play roles aren't fat and if they are, they're very comfortable with that fact.

If you asked Jessica Simpson to play the role of a slightly chunky character because Britney Spears wasn't chunky enough, then yeah, I'd say Jessica Simpson would probably be offended.

I would have to say I doubt that they feel great about themselves for being fat, when someone calls and says you have the role of the fat, ugly, guy who probably ends up getting embarassed in the movie.

But I would have to argue that they have at least some appreciation for the "gift" since it is their livelihood...Look at Clint Howard, he made a career out of being awkward.

yeah but cmon she's HOT... and when a hot person puts on tons of makeup to look ugly there's nothing wrong with that...

its when you're ugly to begin with and when you ask for makeup they're like you don't need any...
