Do fat and/or ugly people physically attract to their own kind?

although i've seen my share of 'unlikely couples'... at the risk of sounding corny though, i believe that you get attracted to someone for their looks but you fall in love with them for their personality and who they are!

When I was younger, I had a girlfriend who was 5'5" and about 110 pounds. Small all over. I was 6'6" and 275 pounds. She was REALLY into me. Crazy pursuing at work and stuff.

My next g/f was 6' and 180 pounds.

My next and current is 5'2" and 140 pounds. I'm no longer 275 pounds.

I think that people are the most attracted to people that remind them of themselves

Our housemate by her own admission is ouite overweight, when asked about dating she just laughs and quotes some famous person " Ï wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member" so she makes no attempts to meet men or to date.

I heard a study that while "ugly" people could be attracted to "pretty" people, they tended to form relationships with people of equal "ugliness."

ie, someone who was a 6/10 tended to be with other people that were a 6/10.

Whatever that's worth.

I personally think I scored a man several rungs above my level in terms of his looks and his intelligence. Sometimes folks luck up !
