Do famous stores have history of carrying fake shoes?

i ask cause my nike from 2003 looks fake and feels cheap. it is made in china. it is called footbridge. i think i bought it at footlocker... (or champssports) not sure but definitely well known stores. it was 120.00 yet it feels cheap. ive been wondering about this since i got it... and by the time i decide i want to return it, the return policy was over. also what make me suspicious of it being fake is that when the staff bring it to me, it was very long and once he comes with it he says something about sold out but this one was a hold from people that never come and get it... not sure it was a long time cant remember speech. it is called footbridge but i google and theres nothing like mine.... only other footbridge that doesnt look the same as mine and theres so many footbridge that dont look the same. i google and google still cant find the one that is exactly like mine on the internet. and i remmeber it has some kind of a piece of note paper on the box.

and now recently bought a new shoes. it has mesh and i expected for it to have holes inside the shoes but as i check inside, it was solid! only the outside is mesh net but inside was solid! is it supose to be like that? it says the mesh allows foot to breath but how can it breath when inside is solid? it is also made in china. i bought this online at sears website.

is there any way to tell if it is fake? do Sears, Footlocker, Champssports have history of selling counterfeit shoes?

As you are the kind of guy who would spend one hundred and twenty dollars on shoes, I find it difficult to feel sorry for you.

I think it happens from time to time.

It's more an issue of the distributors and where they are getting their product from month to month, than the store who sells the product to the consumer.

Of course they do. You just have to know to ask for the "Real Nikes," and slip the sales guy a $20 when you ask.

Fill your bath tub with water and submerge the shoes; hold them underwater for a while to make sure they're completely saturated. Real Nike shoes will sink; the fakes will float.

This method also works with witches, guinea pigs and Diet Coke.

What is wrong with that? I love asics gel kayanos. Sometimes I need shoes now and can't wait for a deal. Otherwise, $80 is around my limit and I can pick up a 700+,800+ new balance for that.

Two things I don't cheap out on are shoes and mattresses. You spend a lot of time using both and bad ones make your life miserable. I find nothing inherently bad about buying hundred and twenty dollar shoes, assuming that you buy them because they fit right and support your foot correctly.

They are very likely not counterfeit, and many shoes are made in China (if not in Mexico, or Indonesia, or India, or whatever place has cheap labor). True counterfeit shoes really, REALLY look fake. Former co-worker bought a pair from some shyster web site for way under market price. Shoes were shipped directly from China. They looked and felt terrible, and even smelled funny.

As for feeling a bit cheap, most athletic shoes seem that way to me. I think part of it is that they are really cutting down on weight, plus using mostly synthetic materials.

alot of little mall stores, outlet stores, etc...do...

i know this because someone i know used to make a little cash on the side importing knock off shoes/bags/golf clubs, and selling them to small business owners in these sorts of places...

I've always heard it put this way...

Do not cheap out on your boots/shoes or your mattress.

You spend too much time in one...and not enough time in the other.

I've never worn cheap shoes. I have VERY wide feet, and for cheap shoes to fit in the width...I have to buy 3 sizes too long. Not worth it to me.

The work boots that I wore for 30+ years now start at $425/pair...and the price goes up quickly if you need them custom fit to your foot...but the comfort is worth every penny.

I HATE cheap mattresses. They just don't have enough support. I've fought back problems for years and years...construction will do that to you...and a cheap mattress only makes a bad back worse.
