The thread mentioned above kinda sorta praises Best Buy's extended warranty plan. One guy got a G1, broke, got a 995, then broke again, got a G3, then that broke and finally BB gave him a DRebel for $100.00 more.

I often hear horror stories about extended warranties and stores like BB, CC, CUSA, giving problems and hassles when trying to get something replaced.

If you bought the extended warranty, and the product broke, and you take it in, they give you some heat, and you're a pussy and give up, then no, extended warranties do not work
 
i puchase them on electronics products that are known to be prone for failure and really expensive items like my tv
