Do emails somehow never get sent?

I am testing my email accounts, and one account seems to have trouble getting emails from a particular account. It goes one way, but half the time it doesnt make it back the other way. Is this common???
 
Could be just crappy administration / maintainence. I know the mail relays at my work crap out all the time, cuz they're run by noobs.

I had the same problem with a friend of mine, who could never send to my Yahoo! account. Her address kept on being added to my "Block" list. It happened a few times, and I never ever did it myself. I thought if maybe some emails she was sending me were getting flagged as SPAM, and then blocking her address. But I'm not sure.

Gmail takes a long time to receive mail...I can remember several times I used my gmail address to sign up for a forum/site...wait....wait...screw it, put in hotmail, it's there instantly. 😕
