We just got an item return from one of the big chain electronic stores cough cough COMPUSA for credit, and what was inside was the plastic USB shell of the product with a fake USB cable attached to make it look legit but the inside of the unit was empty totally weightless? even the ports on the side of the unit were empty, i could put a pencil through it, but i guess it looked good enough and the store took it back.

Some people are messed up. Oh well COMPUSA will not get credit for that.

they put some type of usb cable inside and past it through the USB hole opening to make it look legit.

Someone else before at least put puddy inside to make it heavy.

If they have a lot of returns, it may not be worth their time to check every one. I'd have to bet someone at the store was in on it, tho.

I'm sure it happens to every company.

a friend of mine bought a refurbished Onkyo receiver from Circuit City. When he opened th box when he got home, it had two duralogs (artificial firewood) inside...

he was worried that Circuit City wouldn't believe him, but they gave him another one without any problems...

When I used to work at Fred Meyer people would return N64 games with blocks of wood in the box. We'd always check though... Seriously, how hard is it to open a box?

Someone tried to return a 6600GT-OC to my Future Shop...minus the video card. Woman didn't know what she was returning.
