Do Dumbphone users discriminate against you?

I'm a dumb phoner and only laugh at the posers who buy/use smartphones, but don't have a data plan.

I'm still a dumb-phoner, because at contract renewal I wasn't impressed with the current selection, and by the time I was eligible for an upgrade figured I might as well wait for Tegra 2 phones anyway. I'm not overwhelmed by a need to upgrade my phone that often. I'm also quite aware of what their capabilities are, just the condescension of presuming otherwise is annoying.

I don't largely care if someone has a smartphone or not...just if they feel like they HAVE to get an iPhone (even a quote found its way on NPR ragging those "needing" the 3GS though they had a 3G). My brother and I sometimes pick on his fiancee that she has an iPhone 4.

I discriminate against my boss because he's usually buried in his crackberry, no matter what else is happening.

My secretary has slapped his hand on many occasions because he wouldn't look up while she was talking to him.

It's irrelevant what you're doing with your phone, dumb or smart - your friends are probably complaining that you're spending too much time paying attention to the phone and not enough paying attention to them - a complaint I can certainly understand, as I find it extremely annoying when people do that.

This they probably don't care what phone you have but if when your with them your buried in their phone it makes a statement that their boring and your phones more interesting.

Also how many of those listed smartphone uses do you NEED to do when your with your friends? Shouldn't you be enjoying your friends?
