My dog is almost deaf and the only thing she seems to hear a little bit is a hand clap or a whistle.. ( I can't whistle very well.) Has anyone had experience with dog whistles? Do they work?

I'm not sure how dog hearing works, but in people.. you usually lose the higher frequencies first. So if the dog is pretty deaf, he may not be able to hear a dog whistle very well.

they use dog whistles to make the dolphins and the killer whales do tricks at sea world. once i picked that up snapping shots of the things in the air was easier

Yes, they do. They seem to make no sound because the frequency of the whistle is above ~20000kHz, the nominal upper-range limit on our hearing. However, dogs can hear it.

I bought one but my maletese dog didn't seem to respond to it...I just returned it to the pet store after that.
