I was wondering for people who don't overclock AT ALL, is there any speed advantage going with something like Crucial or Corsair? Up till now I just use whatever comes cheap in the Sunday flyers since I'm still on PC133 SDRAM till I upgrade at the end of this semester.

if you don't oc your memory, just go with generic. I would at least select decent quality stuff, though (kingston, pny)

Do any of the others give higher default timings or anything? Oh yeah, whats the difference between CL2 and CL2.5, actually what does CL even mean?

u will see a very small performance increase with very high quality memory. you will be able to run at lower CL which gives better performance. But for the normal user its not really worth it. I never recommend generic ram tho. Always prefer a brand name. Get some Samsung or Twinmos at MemoryX or Crucial.

How much more performance with the lower CL's?
