do dell orders appear in order status immediately

I tried calling the 800 number and get put into a freaking loop...and "0" doesn't work
I just placed a order and they charged my amex already, but when I go to my order status it says no order info for my account. how long does it take to show up? I haven't received a email confirmation either.
