Do DDR ratings (2400,2700,3000,3200) really matter?

My question is this: If my mobo only supports up to PC2100 and doesn't have the ability to O/C, will i get better memory performance from higher rated DDR?

Nope, the higher number ratings just indicate the speeds they're rated to run at if you're looking to overclock.

That depends on the capabilities of the specific PC2100 memory module(s) and the dram timings available in your BIOS.

If the PC2100 stuff you have will run with the most aggressive dram timings available on your board/BIOS, then nothing will be gained by buying ram with higher specs.

Hope this helps!
